The Farm - Beckside Deer

Beckside Farm's Red Deer herd was managed by Isobel Cockcroft, the eldest of the Morris-Eyton children. Isobel purchased her first deer (20 hinds and one stag) in late August 2011 and the herd has grown from there. At it's largest, the deer herd consisted of 1 stag, 24 hinds and 21 calves. The calves were bred on the farm and spent their lives in a large family group as they would naturally in the wild.

 As of January 2017, after much debate the decision was made to move the Beckside deer to another home. This was to make way for further expansion of our sheep enterprise.
