Millimetre Perfect!

The work on the Hayeswater hydroelectric scheme is drawing to a close with the inside of the power house ready for the installation of the turbines. Manchester Metrology, a specialist laser measuring company, were used to measure the position of the incoming flanged pipe and its relationship to the two reinforced concrete turbine plinths. It is critical that these are constructed to exact measurements to enable the installation of the twin turbines being used. Manchester Metrology’s report confirmed that the powerhouse has been constructed to specification with the actual measurements exceeding the very exacting tolerances required. A great achievement, well done to all the team who had a part in the construction.
